Gerinsing Suite

Situated on the first lower level, from its balcony of the 40 square meter Geringsing suite offers a sweeping view of the valley and mountains with ample privacy with a luxurious king-sized bed and ensuite marble washroom with shower. With its own kitchen and dining area, the suite provides flexibility to create and enjoy private meals.

Geringsing (gering= sick; sing=not) – is an important ceremonial cloth containing magical powers that are believed to heal the sick, and ward off evil spirits. Geringsing threads are dyed in natural dyes and the cloth is woven in the village of Tenganan Pegeringsingan, East Bali, by the Bali Aga or the original Balinese people who were already on the island before the arrival of refugees from the fallen Majapahit kingdom in the 14^th century. Indra the God of War, taught Tenganan women “double ikat weaving”, which applies patterns to both the warp and weft before weaving so that the final pattern only appears upon completion. This arduous process is known only in India, Indonesia, and Japan.
